List of Changes
- IDeA – Major improvements.
- IDeA mode in Aquarium 2011 works much faster. Various optimizations and improvements have resulted in more responsive user interface during IDeA analysis. Aquarium 4 could have problems with processing data from more than 30 engines simultaneously at very fast time controls. Aquarium 2011 can easily handle this situation resulting in improved usability.
- Distance to root (DTR) is now used in IDeA for prioritizing tasks, resulting in more balanced trees. Other improvements for controlling the shape of the IDeA tree were also implemented.
- Close integration of infinite analysis and IDeA. Lines from the Infinite Analysis panel can be sent automatically straight to the IDeA tree or can be seeded as IDeA tasks. Flexible options to control sending results to IDeA are supported.
- Analysis time for tasks with a bad evaluation is dynamically decreased so there is more analysis time available for good moves. IDEA\time_tuning.xml file allows tuning time modification parameters.
- Project score bounds can optionally be specified relative to root evaluations. This provides more flexibility compared to absolute evaluations which were used in previous Aquarium versions and prevents IDeA from running out of tasks due to unexpected jumps in root evaluation.
- Infinite analysis tasks may be scheduled directly into the IDeA queue. Users can select the analysis engine. This way infinite analysis of several positions can be run simultaneously.
- Even more major improvements to IDeA are expected in future Aquarium 2011 updates.
- Infinite analysis.
- You can store infinite analysis of different engines in separate trees. This allows you to view the analysis of several different engines simultaneously in the same tree configuration and compare their evaluations.
- By sending analysis results directly to the IDeA tree you can build pure infinite analysis minimaxed tree without using IDeA task generation. This is a great feature for players used to infinite analysis who want an automatic way of recording all their analysis.
- Analysis lines can be copied/pasted using the clipboard from one computer to another and automatically stored in an analysis trees (infinite_analysis, IDeA, engine specific trees.) on the destination computer.
- ChessOk Playing Club.
- The ChessOK Playing Club client is integrated into the Aquarium 2011 setup package.
- Chess960 games are supported.
- One year membership is provided for all Aquarium 2011 owners (Serial number is essential). Lots of tournaments are available every day in the club.
- Rybka 4.1 is included in Rybka Aquarium 2011 package as the main engine. Deep Rybka 4.1 is included in Deep Rybka Aquarium 2011 package as main engine.
- Miscellaneous features.
- RTF export: quality of diagrams can be specified in RTF export
- Special tree configuration with opening names and indexes is included into the package
- In Addition to the ability to hide your name in games listed in the Navigation Pane, the board can be inverted automatically to your side to view. See dialogue Options \ Display Options\ Hidden Names \ field [X] Invert board.
- When pasting a game and joining to an existing game, Aquarium automatically makes reverse joining of games if appended part is the start of the game and game view contains rest of the game. As an example, if the first 10 moves are missing from a game you can successfully paste the missing moves to form a complete game.
- More standard shortcuts are available:
Ctrl-F1 – minimizes and maximizes the Ribbon.
Ctrl-K – locks/unlocks infinite analysis for the position of analysis
Ctrl-G – moves the cursor to the position of frozen infinite analysis
Shift-F6 – previous game (earlier only F6 – next game was the standard hotkey)
- As in previous versions, early Aquarium 2011 owners will be provided with several updates with further improvements.
- At least 3 groups of functions are scheduled to be updated.
- IDeA improvements (as usual). More powerful and effective algorithms are already on the drawing board.
- Great improvements in HTML publishing of games and iBooks are under development. Direct uploading of nice looking HTML pages to a server will be provided.
- Usability month. For at least one whole month, the developers will work closely with users on the forum and implement the most requested improvements.
- At least 3 groups of functions are scheduled to be updated.
